The Men That Built America Our new European visitors, through no
choice of their own, had lived on the communist side of the Berlin
Wall. So, my preparation for their arrival centered around historical American
Industry. We had the History Channel Docudrama;
The Men Who Built America;
the story how Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, J.P. Morgan,
John D. Rockefeller and Cornelius Vanderbilt rose from
obscurity and in the process built modern America. They were
enthralled.
I
additionally lined up
visits to the original Steel Valley, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Then
the
Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan,
which is the finest overall museum of American Industry. The
National AACA Event in Hershey
Pennsylvania, the largest concentration of Americana in the
world, along with areas around North Central WV.
Anthony
would later tell me that I knocked it out of the park. A
compliment, did I hear a compliment...
